Custom Server/IPs
Hey there, a bunch of friends and I recently downloaded High Treason, (we have tablets at our school) and love to play together. In one class we figured out how to use the IP:port config however it did not work after that. Does anyone know of the correct/always working IP to use with a port? I tried to use my schools IP but that did not work. If someone could explain how the custom server works too that would be great. I can tell you that if I can get this answered the game will spread. Lots of downloads

I noticed the local multiplayer by using a server here (https://hightreason.forumotion.net/t56-multiplayer) however what if I cannot use that?

Well I know there was a default ip, however after changing it, I cannot figure out how to get a working one. The IP before was more a URL, like 172.0.0.1:8773/hightreason or something. However, I cannot find an IP to connect to. Is there an IP that you would suggest using?

Re: Custom Server/IPs
When you start the server as administrator a console opens like this.
The red part is what you have to put to the Options --> Custom Server.

Is it possible to play with someone without running a server from your personal computer?

Hey I tried the OneDrive server, and got this
HTTP could not register URL http://+:8773/hightreasonservice/. Your process does not have access rights to this namespace (see **blocked URL** for details).
Could I run the server without being an admin?

I was able to run the server, however after running it, I get the error when I try the 2 choices for IPs. The error: Your process does not have access rights to this namespace
says the IP cannot be used for communication

Oooh! You have two networks. So you have to chose the IP. I never tested this case before. I will try it on my side.
Normally the error-message "Your process does not have access rights to this namespace" appears, when you did not run the server as administrator.

Okay. I think the server method is pretty cool, I could run it from my personal computer with no probelm most likely. But I am trying to run it on a school computer, which has network filters. I can use a VPN as well. I see if I can screenshot what I see from my end.

Before with the network options I was on my own network with the installed school filters on the tablet. That may have been why it was giving me the option. However, on the school network is this
HTTP could not register URL (http would be here but I deleted it because of the forum filter)//+:8773/hightreasonservice/. Your process does not have access rights to this namespace (see (would be here too)://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=70353 for details).
no options

If anything, do you think I could port forward and run it globally? Like what if I ran it from a home computer?

Re: Custom Server/IPs
It seams you don't have the rights to host a service in your school network. I'm afraid I can't help. Perhaps a network specialist would have a solution. But I don't have any. I'm sorry.

No problem, I always try to find a way around it. Would it be possible to run the server from a home network and then connect to it on a different network? (school network)
Perhaps via prot forward the 8773 port?
