out of sync Empty out of sync

Since two weeks I try to find the "out of sync - bug" in multiplayer without success.
Did anybody notice when the "out of sync" happens?

I guess it happens when wide range units (archers or stone thorowers) are in action, but I can't reproduce it.
Sometimes it happens, sometimes not.

If someone has discovered a pattern, any help is greatly appreciated.

I hope the problem is not caused by floating point values. My whole game is based on float :-(


What "out of sync" means:
Multiplayer does not share absolute positions of units among the client players. It just transfer commands. This means both client simulations must be calculated absolutely synchronously. If one value is different (per example an archers shoot angle), the entire games are changing more and more. The result is an absolute different game. By the way, this problem is also known in Age of Empires.

"Out of sync" seems never to occur in the first game. I have it always in the second game. Have any of you found the same behavior? If that were so, you could restart the game before you start a multiplayer game.

I feel that it occurs more frequently at stone throwers or perhaps archers.

All in all I still groping in the dark.

Wooooohooo! I got him, after 3 weeks of bug tracking!
It had nothing to do with float value deterministic nor with network latency.
The solution was so simple...
I just forgot to reinitialize the unit-healer on restart.

I will commit the fix on monday.

Its to bad that i didn't check the forum in a while because i could have told you that most of my out of sync problems had to do with the units not having the same health.
i noticed that on my screen some enemies would die and on there screen i died.
