To win your battle you should know what are the advantages of each unit.
You will see, it's not a good idea to attack knights with archers and never attack miliz with knights.
The units works a bit like Stone-Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock.
It's always good idea to have a good mix of units (what I learned in Age Of Kings :-)

- Moving slow

Villager
+ Collects food
- Bad in close combat


Units      Gui_1810
Stone thrower
+ Cheap
+ Moving fast
+ Bonus against miliz
+ Fight water
- Low range
- Bad in close combat

Archer
+ Wide range
+ Bonus against swordsman
- Bad in close combat


Units      Gui_1010
Miliz
+ Cheap
+ Moving fast
+ Bonus against knights
+ Fight water
- Few hitpoints


Units      Gui_1110
Swordsman
+ Many hit points
+ High damage
- Expensive
- Moving slow

Knight
+ Moving fast
+ Excellent against archers and stone throwers
- Bad against miliz

Ram
+ Bonus against buildings
+ Shield against arrows and stones
- Bad in close combat


Units      Gui_6710
Siege Tower
+ The 'siege tower' is to storm an enemy village without destroy its wall
+ Shield against arrows and stones
- Can't fight
  1. Crate a siege tower
  2. Put wall elements to it
  3. Add stairs
  4. Bring it next to the enemy wall
  5. Climb to the enemy wall with your units

Storage Cart
+ Mobile storage for resources
+ Brings resources to other villages
- Can't fight

At start of each level, you can use resources just in the village yore storage is.
If you like to build a new village on a empty map tile, you have two possibilities:
  • Build a storage cart and bring your food to the new map tile.
  • Develop the 'coinage' to use your resources all over the map.

+ Bonus against buildings
+ Shield against arrows and stones
- Expensive
- Moving slow
- Bad against moving objects
- Bad in close combat
